3/9/2022 0 Comments FUN with room sprays!I think room sprays are a waste of money because of the size of the product. Sure, they all say "a little goes a long way", but does it REALLY? I've never been impressed by a room spray before. Ok, ONE was good enough for me to repurchase, but that was because I LOVE Goose Creek's Pumpkin Cider Donut. I hoped they would bring it back last fall, or for the holidays, but they didn't.
After I bought the Room Spray during their seasonal sale, I immediately motored over to their website. Egad! NO Pumpkin Cider Donut in stock. I'm so sad I didn't buy up a few before they were gone. Besides BBW Saltwater Taffy, not buying PCD when I had a chance, is my biggest candle regret. Beyond regrets, there is still joy for the fact the FRAGRANCE itself wasn't discontinued. Hope remains! I wondered if Goose Creek had any PCD smell-a-likes. When they have their seasonal sales, their room sprays are extremely reasonably priced. Think 1.99-2.99 territory. They are a great, cheap way for one to try out a multitude of scents, including one I thought might be similar to PCD based on the notes. They sprays I bought were:
Although IP didn't smell enough like PCD, there was a room spray I bought that works as a decent dupe. When I sprayed Carnival Cake, I was fooled into thinking I'd sprayed PCD. I had to double check the bottle to make sure I didn't mix them up. I really did not expect something called "Carnival Cake" would smell anything like a Pumpkin Cider Donut, but besides a powdered or maple sugar note, it's damn close. What does Pumpkin Cider Donut smell like, you ask? Imagine the best combo of fall-pumpkin-bakery-cinnamon notes ALL perfectly balanced, and you have PCD. It's the difference between YOUM and MMMMM. I've smelled many a pumpkin candle. I am obsessed with Pumpkin ANYTHING. Goose Creek does pumpkin right. BBW loves to add pumpkin (or at least LIST it with their notes). Their Fall Bakery Collections are legendary and loaded with it, but their pumpkin scents don't hold a candle (sic) to Goose Creek's. I have bought several over the years, Goose Creek's Pumpkin Caramel Swirl, Pumpkin Bread, Pumpkin Pretzel, Pumpkin Pie etc. None of them have stolen my heart like Pumpkin Cider Donut. Before I hop onto Goose Creek's site to see if they have Carnival Cake in stock, I still have one more room spray to review. Christmas Village is taking things in a completely different direction, diving you headfirst into Winter. Appropriately named, it reflects what I imagine Santa's North Pole would smell like: Christmas Trees, Mint, and Vanilla. It's potent, and after the initial blast of spearmint infused peppermint, the vanilla takes over. The scent reads both sweet & a little bitter, which I assume might be due to a drop of eucalyptus, or "green note". It gives off an icy vibe, like when you step outside and breathe in the startlingly cold air. It doesn't read creamy, like Peppermint Whip or BBW Twisted Peppermint. I much prefer those to Village Christmas. Maybe it will grow on me, but this vanilla-mint combo is too cloying for my liking. Like Ivory Pumpkin, this will either end up in the gift or emergency pile. All in all, I am quite happy with my purchases. Goose Creek keeps impressing me with their delicious bakery and food smells. Bonus, I found something similar to my beloved PCD. I really hope Carnival Cake isn't out of stock now, or I'm going to have to wait for fall again! On sale, I'd recommend these room sprays. They are at least as good as anything Bath and Body Works sells. They used to have one designer flaw, a stupid top/cap that wouldn't stay closed and would pop off every time they were touched. The caps aren't perfect, but they stay on much better now. Your bottle could fall over and the cap stays shut. Good job on fixing that Goose Creek. Now bring back ALL your Pumpkin Cider Donut products! Til Next Time Lovies! The Candle Queen <3
